St. Lawrence Seaway launches opening marking 60th anniversary

On a day of splendid when the St. Lawrence sunshine, a decidedly Seaway marked its 60th upbeat mood prevailed anniversary with the opening on March 26 of the 2019 season at the binational North American waterway's entrance on the Saint Lambert lock facing Montreal. And fittingly enough, in the presence of many dignitaries, the Federal Kumano, part of the fleet of Fednav Limited which is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, served as the opening vessel. It was loaded with a bulk cargo of titanium chloride destined for the Port of Ashtabula, Ohio.
