EPA Issues New and Revised RCRA Generator and Import–Export Rules

Since 1986, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)has regulated the export and import of hazardous wasteunder its Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)authority.1 Generally, the current rules require hazardous wasteimporters and exporters to comply with EPA’s hazardouswaste manifest rules and reporting requirements. EPA has nowpromulgated substantial revisions to these rules, effectiveDecember 31, 2016.
