摘要

Getting started. We were all there once. Given access to a computer, or perhaps even just given our own computing device, possibly wondering how to even boot the system or perform basic functions. Many of us have grown up-technology-wise-in a GUI point-and-click environment. Even some Apple-only long timers going back to the, "Classic," environment of pre-OS X could effectively only point and click. Of course, if you go back before the Macintosh, you did have a command-line environment on the Apple II, but I'm not sure that's a valid comparison to anything we have today. It certainly wasn't a modern shell, nor did it have to worry about multi-tasking. But one thing was the same: getting started. Booting up an Apple II left you staring at a command prompt with very little guidance on how to proceed. Today, there are an incredible number of options: perhaps too many.
