The intended target audience for this book is not the machine translation specialist, but instead non-specialists, especially those teaching ESL/EFL who are interested in developing a more "algorithmic" understanding of English syntax, perhaps extending into developing CALL applications. In this review, I first summarize the basic approach of the book with some minor comments and then provide more extensive comments geared towards the MT community.
