Smart window technology on trial for Karlsruhe tram-trains

Smart window technology (an LCD-enabled transparent panel) is now being tested on an AVG tram-train in Karlsruhe. During the six-month trial, the operator will record and assess when and how passengers choose to interact with the smart window in order to access information such as route map, connections, or tourist information along the line. It is also possible to access more personalised information using a smartphone app and a QR code.
