There's a new digital divide, related to mobile services, with the gap a "powerful differentiator" among technology users. A report from the Pew Internet and American Life Project indicates that 39 percent of adults "have positive and improving attitudes about their mobile devices." The remaining 61 percent specify that though they may have broadband and cell phones, "coping with access is often too much for them."rnBased on survey responses from December 2007, the report is likely somewhat out-of-date, given the steady adoption of new technology. Pew researchers have divided information and communication technology (ICT) usage behavior into ten categories that equally fall into two groups. Those "motivated by mobility" have increasingly adopted mobile devices based on the greater availability of broadband and the desire for increased contact with others.
