Spectators at the Charleston Conference crowded into the largest ballroom to see competitors EBSCO Publishing and Serials Solutions face off over their discovery products-EB SCO Discovery Service (EDS) and Summon, respectively. The more than 500 people who showed up for the program on November 4-compet ing with 18 concurrent sessions-proved that a high-level session on discovery would hold as much sway as the conference organizers suspected. But what onlookers found was far more showcase than showdown.
