Gordon (The Complete Book of Quilting) explores the history of American folk art quilts. in this collection, illustrated with examples from the Wisconsin State Historical Society. A variety of themes and techniques are presented, including floral quirts, red work, whole cloth, and geometric quilts. Extensive historical information is provided with each quilt and method, giving quitters background on the history of their art. Though there are patterns for selected quilts, knowledge of quirting is assumed.
