Election Day had mostly positive results for libraries. The Columbus Metropolitan Library (CML), OH, Lfs Library of the Year 2010, which has been reeling from steep reductions in state funding since 2008, won a 2.8-mill property tax issue. Overall, 30 of 38 library measures on the ballot in Ohio passed. In Colorado, Proposition 60, 61, and 101, which could have proven catastrophic to libraries and other public services, suffered resounding defeats. And in California, Prop. 22, which prohibits the state from diverting local funds-including funds for libraries-passed. It was supported by the California Library Association.
