ALA Midwinter 2021 Goes Virtual

The American Library Association (ALA) hosted its 107th and final Midwinter Meeting & Exhibits online January 22-26. The second ALA conference to be presented virtually during the COVID-19 pandemic, Midwinter 2021 attracted more than 7,100 participants. The array of speakers was strong this year, beginning with opening session speakers Ibram X. Kendi and Keisha N. Blain.The two discussed their collective work, Four Hundred Souls: A Community History of African America, 1619-2019, an anthology commemorating 400 years of Black American history from 1619, when the first slave ship arrived in Virginia, to 2019.
