Information Needs of Illiterate Female Farmers in Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State

摘要

Cassava is the major crop planted by the illiterate female farmers in the Abraka and Agbon clans; closely followed by yam tubers. The farmers need information on agriculture, including improved seedling/cassava stem, and price of farm products. This information has to be disseminated to them through community leaders/ opinion leaders and the children of the illiterate female farmers. In addition radio and television programmes on agriculture and town criers are sources of agricultural information for the illiterate female farmers in Ethiope East local government area of Delta State.
