Digital Transformation: Dr. Billington Discusses Future of Public Libraries

A topic no less ambitious than "The Transformation of the Public Library" in the 21st century provoked far-reaching discussion at a Dec. 8 conference at the Library. On hand were officials from key institutions working on access to digital information: the Library of Congress, the Coalition for Networked Information, the Council on Library Resources, the Public Library Association, Urban Libraries Council, Libraries for the Future and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.
