Woolskin colouration using disperse dyes

In the fellmongery or tannery, there are several factors which influence the outcome of the wool or hair dyeing. Fashion dictates that the modern woolskin or hair-on leather manufacturer has to provide a wide range of single, dual or multi-coloured dyeing effects. Therefore, the dye has to withstand a rigorous manufacturing process, be compatible with other colours and effects and offer the final customer an attractive product which meets all the modern physical and chemical demands. Research and development at BASF in Ludwigshafen, Germany, has led to a range of disperse dyes which meet this criteria.
