Solofra tanners introduce eco-mark

Tanners from the tanning cluster of Solofra (Avellino) in Italy have launched their own Eco Leather mark. A group of tanners from the region introduced the mark at the APLF in Hong Kong, March 30 - April 1. The Solofra Tanning District mark has been awarded to tanners which have good eco-compatibility and are located in the Solofra area. The mark has been introduced and awarded by the Chamber of Commerce of Avellino, using a scheme based on the EC Regulation 761/2001 - regulating the voluntarily compliance of organisations to an EU eco management and audit system (EMASII).
