Ethiopian exports hit record revenue high

Revenue derived from Ethiopian leather exports totalled $71.1 million over the past seven months, marking a record high for the industry. Melaku Taye, communications director of the Ethiopian Ministry of Industry, said earnings for the period were up 62%, year on year. However, despite this achievement, Taye said the figure fell short of the ministry's original target, as a result of a challenging international economic climate and management problems.
