Many of us in the leather industry - not to mention most of the world - monitored the recent meeting between President Trump and President Xi Jinping of China, and wondered what would be discussed, and what progress, or further divergences, might follow. Much was riding on the meeting, considering Trump's long list of asides and rebuffs towards China. At least President Xi was served pan-seared Dover sole and New York strip steak, not the Big Mac initially proposed by his US counterpart. So, that's some progress.
