Mexican exports of footwear improve slightly

While Mexican shoe manufacturers produce 270 million pairs per year, exports peaked at 22/23 million pairs per year. It seems that last year there was a slight improvement with exports almost reaching 25 million pairs according to the Federation of Mexican shoes CIGEC. In two years the average price per pair exported has gone from 21 to 26 dollars which represents an increase of 12% per year. The main export markets for Mexican shoes are in order, the USA, Brazil, Canada and Colombia.
