At a time where sustainable development and ethics have become key issues for a leather industry structured around hundred-year-old companies, new emerging actors are placing these concerns at the very heart of their existence and their economic model. Launched in 2017 by Jack Millington and Rory Harker, Billy Tannery is emblematic of the new generation of entrepreneurs and artisans inspired by this movement. Starting from the observation that almost all the skins of goats farmed in Great Britain left the country, the two partners decided to act in order to make use of this quality by-product at a local level. They set up their tannery in their home region of the Midlands, a stone's throw from their suppliers and the workshops that transform their leathers into luxury accessories.
