FORD POLICE VEHICLES FOR 2016

The redesigned PI Utility was introduced at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. (See the March-April 2015 issue of Police Fleet Manager.) The PI Utility has a new and different front fascia and grille from the retail Explorer and new headlight and taillight assemblies. For 2016, wig-wag headlights are back. The low beams on the PI Utility are LED while the high beams are super-bright incandescent bulbs. The high beams can be wig-wagged. The grille has 12 percent better cooling than previous versions. The 3.7L Ti-VCT V6 PI Utility and the 3.5L EcoBoost V6 PI Utility now have the same grille and fascia. The EcoBoost version has INTERCEPTOR lettering on the front fascia. The new front end and rear end freshening also reduces aerodynamic drag by 5 percent.
