Brazil extends rights of use for A and B sub-bands until 2028

Brazil's National Telecommunications Agency decided that companies holding wireless frequencies in sub-bands A and B can again extend authorizations for their use, on a primary basis, until 29 November 2028. The president of the Agency, Leonardo de Morais, stressed the importance of refarming so that these bands be used for mobile broadband. The operators will have to meet commitments to expand broadband coverage, in 4G or higher technology, in locations other than the host district, observing the population criterion and the gaps identified in the Network Structural Plan, in addition to covering federal roads.
