Claro Brasil FTTH coverage to reach 1.5m homes this year

America Movil (AM)-backed Claro Brasil expects to pass 1.5 million residences with its fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) network by the end of 2019, senior executives have confirmed. In a conference call with analysts to discuss the group's second quarter earnings, Oscar Von Hauske Solis, AM's Chief Fixed Line Operations Officer commented: 'We know that our competitors are building fiber as well. So, it's a very competitive environment, but we think we have the right infrastructure to be a good player in the market.'
