YOU LOVE STONES. I know you do because you wouldn't be reading this if you didn't. Do you remember your first? Mine was a pear-shaped aquamarine which I was given in a birthstone ring when I was 10. My next loves were the rounded river rocks found in streams during vacations in New Mexico, then later in life my engagement ring. Much later, I lusted over a green chrysoprase, cut by Steve Walters and gifted to me by dear friends. I think it still might be my favorite. Then I saw this channelwood stone in Tucson this past February. It was love, overwhelming love — and I had to have it. It's rare and beautiful. I hope I listened to what it wanted to say because I made this piece for the love of the stone.
