They call it the Horseshoe, and for the residents and tourists of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, it's a popular place for street festivals and summer concerts, which fill downtown with the bright sounds of "shag," a local style of swing. The Horseshoe got its name from being a traffic turnaround, and most days it isn't much more than the point at which Main Street dead-ends at the shoreline of this small, seaside community of 15,000 people.
