摘要

"We did all kinds of conservation practices on farms when I first started moving dirt," remembers Forrest Davis, long-time member of Illinois LICA (Land Improvement Contractors of America). "Waterways, terraces, ponds, we did them all, and more too, because putting conservation practices on farms was a big thing back then some 30-40 years ago." President of the nearly 120 member IL Chapter for the past two years, Forrest has seen the work of his company, Forrest Davis Construction, Inc., Manito, IL, gradually shift to more commercial work such as site development and work in urban areas. Conservation work on farms is still important but there isn't nearly as much anymore around here," says Forrest. "I think a lot of LICA members are probably experiencing similar shifts in their businesses."
