The Ankeny Golf and Country Club (AGCC), founded in 1962, had been experiencing disturbing changes in Rock Creek as it flowed through their golf course. At one time, members could step across the stream, but over the last 10 years the stream channel had widened from 5 rnfeet to more than 20 feet in some areas, with erosion causing vertical banks that threatened holes, fairways, golf cart paths and a footbridge.
