Onsite Wastewater Treatment within the Shallow Soil Horizon

Ever changing regulatory requirements, intensified environmental sensitivity, and goals for sustainable development are pushing everyone in the wastewater industry to look for innovative approaches and to new products to better protect our public health as we pursue cost-effective methods to treat wastewater. The desirability of returning water to the aquifer as close to its origin as possible and cost is driving a continued shift toward the use of onsite septic system treatment as compared to centralized treatment plants. With the advanced products and new approaches now available, these natural systems are extremely efficient and effective including those installed in the shallow soil horizons.
