The Chitgar Lagoon project, west of Tehran, is gaining attention for its scale, and this may be exactly the sort of project we will hear much more about in the coming years. Just as buildings are being engineered to be taller (and in some cases much taller), infrastructures are being sized up. Everything from levees to high- ways to potable water reservoirs is being constructed on a much larger scale. Oil is being pulled from farther down in the earth. Metals are being mined at incredible depths.
