Improvement for the river IJssel

The river IJssel connects the northern and eastern part of the netherlands with the rhine, but does not always meet the depth and width requirements for modern inland navigation vessels. Arcadis (lead partner), WL | Delft Hydraulics (responsible for river engineering) and consulting hydraulic engineer lievense hydraulic engineering investigated several improvement scenarios in a study initiated by the dutch ministry of transport, public works and water management.
