INDIA - Indian commission dyer Sri Gayathri Colours, located in die heart of India's knitwear production centre of Tirupur, has installed a Monforts Montex 6500 stenter to introduce the concept of open-width knitwear finishing to the region, where tubular-knit processing is the norm. Founded in 1990 by R Loganathan, the mill began its operations with four 'winch' dyeing systems before the installation of modern Fong's dyeing units in 2006, doubling production. Within 12 months a further five dyeing units were added, to offer a mix of capacities, varying from 20-1,120kg - all for tubular knitwear.
