UK textile industry calls for new trade agreements post-Brexit

Views across the British textile, fashion and manufacturing industries are united in their call for new trade agreements to be negotiated following the surprise Brexit result in the UK referendum held on June 23. The emphasis on safeguarding trade deals comes amid confusion and uncertainty about what lies in store not only for the UK textile industry, but also the whole country. Adam Mansell, CEO of the UK Fashion & Textile Association (UKFT), said: "The EU is a substantial market for the UK fashion and textile industry, and a significant supply source of raw materials. It is currently impossible to predict the long-term impact of the referendum vote to leave the EU."
