Thermal Image Analysis of Elasto-Visco/Plastic Deformation and Fracture in Notched Members

摘要

The elasto-visco/plastic behavior and fracture process were examined by tensile test and thermography method in mechanical members. Paying attention to surface temperature that is generated by plastic deformation and fracture of the pure titanium plate, which has remarkable strain rate dependence at room temperature, we examined the microscopic plastic deformed intensity by measuring the surface heat distribution under the deformation and fracture. As the measuring units, the thermo-viewer, thermocouples and CCD camera were used. Furthermore FEM elasto-visco/plastic analysis coupled with transient heat conduction analysis was performed in plastic deformation and fracture process. It was shown that the thermography method was a effective method in the visualization of local plastic deformation.
