Przeróbka biomasy do paliw węglowodorowych ma stosunkowo krótką historię. Rysują się tutaj trzy kierunki. Pierwszy polega na zgazowaniu biomasy do biosyngazu, a następnie drogę poprzez syntezę Fischera - Tropscha do paliw węglowodorowych. Drugi polega na pirolizie biomasy do produktów gazowych i biooleju, a następnie ich dalszą przeróbkę (np. zgazowanie biooleju). Trzeci, to procesy bezpośredniego przerabiania biomasy do węglowodorów. Obecnie dominują dwa pierwsze kierunki. W niniejszym artykule starano się scharakteryzować każdy z nich.%Crucial properties (ultimate composition, humidity, content of volatile matters, carbon residue and caloric value) of biomass raw materials (sawdust, bagasse, corn cob, beech timber, grass, straw and dry sewage slime) are presented due to gasification and pyrolysis processes. Obtained products (bio-oil, bio-syngas) contain a lot of impurities: dust, ash, inorganic salts, ammonia, hydrogen cyanide, tar, sulfur and chlorine compounds. Several methods are applied to clean the bio-syngas. Possibilities of application and utilization of bio-syngas are wide - ranging: direct burning to produce energy, as semi-finished product for hydrogen manufacturing, as raw material for methanol manufacturing or as syngas for Fi-Tro synthesis of liquid fuels. Although there are not any commercial plants for liquid fuel synthesis via biogas such solution are nevertheless under consideration.
