Report of Association Conference, 25 - 27 April '14

During the Industrial Revolution Manchester (or Cottonopolis) was the international centre of the global cotton and textile trade. Chancellors Hotel and Conference Centre, a much extended mansion of that era, was home to the 12th biennial Association Conference. Large ensuite rooms, attentive staff, good food and table service for evening meals all made for a relaxing weekend. In the Flowers Theatre, speakers interpreted and developed the Conference theme, Reaching Out, in their own ways. The opening speaker was Jenny Balfour-Paul, President of the Association. In a talk entitled Pass the Parcel: spreading skills to future generations she shared her textile journey with us.
