An article in Journal 234 by Frankie Owens detailed the activities of the Cambridgeshire Guild's Peruvian Textiles Study Group (PTSG) since its inception in 2006. This has included Peruvian knitting, cross-knit looping, flat braiding, eye braiding, backstrap weaving and spinning. The group has since hosted workshops on these last two skills led by Laverne Waddington and Abby Franquemont respectively. We have increased in numbers and attracted people from outside Cambridgeshire who have joined the Guild for this purpose. The study group has also progressed in technical knowledge and skill, and new members are introduced to backstrap weaving by our experienced weaver and teacher Diane Ashley Smith. We meet four to five times a year in the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology in Cambridge.
