Ditchling Museum of Art and Craft in Sussex is an award-winning institution in the heart of the South Downs. Over the years, Ditchling has attracted many artists and craftspeople, most notably the group of internationally renowned creatives who lived and worked in the village at the turn of the twentieth century. This group included the weaver and natural dyer, Ethel Mairet, who moved to Ditchling in 1916 with her husband, Philip, to live and work at Gospels, their home, gallery and workshop. Ditchling Museum celebrates the lives and work of these talented artists and craftspeople and has a frequently changing programme of exhibitions and displays, alongside a growing permanent collection.
