Spinning with Kevlar

Why would you bother to hand spin with Kevlar? Well, there were two reasons for me. Firstly, I was doing the Association Certificate of Achievement in spinning and, disappointed that there was no requirement to demonstrate ability with synthetic fibres, I was keen to show that I could spin other than natural materials. Secondly, I have a splendid pair of Kevlar oven gloves, which are becoming somewhat venerable. I wanted to see if I could replicate them when (if) they ever wore out. I thought that, if I was successful, it would be a good opportunity to upcycle something that might otherwise go to waste.
