Jacqueline James Hand Dyed and Woven Rugs: Colour & Weave

Just inside the main entrance to the Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate was a burst of colour and texture. Jacqueline James exhibited a range of fourteen large and two small rugs demonstrating the range of her current work. All of the rugs were woven by Jacqueline on her loom at her home in York, and most were woven with her hand-painted or dip-dyed wefts. In addition to the spirited rugs, Jacqueline featured a sample loom, handmade by Peter Collingwood. As she uses the shaft switching technique he created in many of her pieces, it was a lovely synergy to have his loom on display.
