A Sense of Continuity Between The Inside of A Room and the Outdoors Produced By Lighting Psychological determinants and applicability to architectural spaces

A series of our previous studies has shown that we can experience a sense of continuity between the inside of a room and the outdoors by adjusting the illuminance and color of the artificial lighting. The purpose of this study is to examine psychological determinants of the sense of continuity (experiment 1), and to test its applicability to various architectural spaces (experiment 2). In experiment 1 we examine if the optimum illuminance of the continuity depends on the shape of an experimental room.
