Softening of Calcium-Hydrocarbonate Water in a Flow-Through Electrolyzer with a Filtrating Cartridge

We have studied the impact of the amount of passed electricity and concentration of hydrocarbonate ions on the degree of softening calcium-hydrocarbonate water in a successive flow-through electrolyzer with a filtrating cartridge. It has been found that indispensable conditions for the softening of water containing 10 mg-eq/dm~3 of calcium ions is the presence in it of hydrocarbonate ions (5-7 mg-eq/dm~3) and treatment of water by electricity (300-450 C/dm~3).
