This volume, part of the Urban and Regional Policy and Its Effects series, edited by Margaret Wier, Nancy Pindus, Howard Wial, and Harold Wolman. examines how to build resilient regions and is organized into six chapters. After the introduction, Chapter 2 defines resilience in conceptual terms, and is followed by five chapters that address regional resilience in terms of five particular policy challenges: home mortgage foreclosures, immigration, public transportation, regional economic development, and poverty.
