摘要

The emergent field of nanotechnology requires the facile preparation of well-defined shape-persistent three-dimensional nanometer-sized objects. Polymeric nanoparticles (PNPs) continue to receive intensive research efforts for these ends. The synthesis of PNPs through the intramolecular cross-linking and collapse of single polymer chains is currently being investigated as a simple and facile route to discrete nanometer-sized objects without the need for selective solvent techniques.
