摘要

The two articles presented in this issue reflect efforts amongst the global textile design research community to engage with regionally specific textile design and making practices in India. As well as reporting on recent research, the articles provide an opportunity to reflect upon how we work as textile designers and researchers beyond our own culturally specific design practices as we look to engage and collaborate across regions. What design and research practices can we develop to ensure that we recognize and respect different modes of knowledge generation, dissemination and application? And how might textile thinking and making facilitate this?
