Editorial of special issue on Software Engineering for Parallel Systems

摘要

Software development for modern parallel platforms has received much attention in the past few years. Researchers around the world have tried to reduce the complexity of parallel applications dealing with compelling challenges of the software development on parallel platforms such as multicore/manycore, distributed and hybrid systems. It is our pleasure to open the special issue on Software Engineering for Parallel Systems of the Journal of Software and Systems that includes 6 selected papers, out of which some are revised versions of those that have been invited for submission from the set of papers presented at the First International Workshop on Software Engineering for Parallel Systems (SEPS) co-located with SPLASH-2014 Conference, and held in Portland, Oregon, United States on October 21, 2014, whereas some others are external submissions, not based on SEPS Workshop papers, and were directly submitted to the call for Paper of the special issue hosted by Elsevier Journal of Systems and Software (JSS).
