The papers in this edition were selected fromnthe 10th International Symposium on “Materials in SpacenEnvironment” (ISMSE) and the 8th International Conferencen“Protection of Materials and Structures in a Space Environment”n(ICPMSE), which were held as a joint symposium in Collioure, ansmall village in the South of France, from the 19th to the 23rd ofnJune 2006. ISMSE was organized by the Office National d’Etudes etnde Recherches Aérospatiales (ONERA) Centre National d’EtudesnSpatiales (CNES) in collaboration with the European Space Agencyn(ESA) and the CentreNational d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES). ICPMSEnwas organized by ITL, Inc. (Integrity Testing Laboratory) and thenCanadian Space Agency.
