摘要

Classical satellite constellations are based on the use of the geosynchronous Earth orbit, low or medium Earth orbits, or highly elliptical orbits. No single kind of architecture is able to guarantee complete global coverage along with flexible capacity. Future demand for broadband services is expected to be very unevenly distributed both in time and in space. this fact suggests that the optimal design of a constellation can be based on the simultaneous use of different kind of orbits introducing the concept of a hybrid orbit constellation.
