Strengthening effect in Al_2O_3p/Zn-Al composites

Al_2O_3p/ZA22 composites were fabricated with high intensity ultrasonic treat- ment. The minimum diameter of reinforcement used is 0.5 μm. The microstructure and mechanical properties were studied. The results show that particles disperse hogeneous- ly with good particle/matrix interface bonding and the mechanical properties depend on the volume fraction rater than the size of reinforcement.
