The viability of employment-intensive (EI) techniques in road con - struction has been confirmed through research for a range of activities. This paper focuses on the drainage structures compo - nent of road construction, a field of application that has not been reported on the same depth. This field holds potential for employment creation, especially with regard to the envirs - aged development approach to the repair of the recent flood damage.
