Reply to the comment of Martin Keil, Jochen Großmann and Holger Weiß (Keil et al. 2011) on the article 'Sediment research, management and policy-a decade of JSS' (Forstner and Salomons 2010)

We are grateful to the authors for their comment (Keil et al. 2011) to our article (Forstner and Salomons 2010). The comments reflect the different involvements individual scientists often have in the last two stages of the "Academic Research to Implementation Cycle" (our first short editorial, Salomons and Forstner 2010). We decided to put our focus on the topic "Ecological Mega-Project 2002/2005" in view of the spirit of the EU Water Framework Directive.
