Sir Andrew Motion: MLA, The Poetry Archive and the Value of the Acoustic

Sir Andrew Motion, Chair of the Museums, Libraries and Archives Council (MLA) and creator of the Poetry Archive in conversation with Caroline Williams, co-editor of JSA, on 20th November 2009. The purpose of the discussion was to consider Motion's role with MLA and to learn more about the Poetry Archive and the acoustic nature of poetry.rnMotion succeeded Ted Hughes as Poet Laureate in 1999, holding the position for a period often years. He took up the role of Chair of MLA in July 2008, for a period of four years. He is Professor of Creative Writing at Royal Holloway, University of London and co-founder of the Poetry Archive.
