Critical reflection and decision making in the family courts: a case study involving siblings with competing interests

摘要

This article will explore the concepts of critical reflection and analysis in social work and discuss these ideas in relation to decision making in the public law family court system, with particular reference to cases where there are siblings with competing interests. Frequently there are situations in public law proceedings where the children involved have competing interests, especially when one of the sibling group is placed for adoption. The complexities of the issues involved in decision-making are explored in this article by drawing on case study material.
